Fume Filtration

Work areas must be well ventilated to be safe, and inspectors are becoming more vigilant in making sure dust and fume extraction is effectively designed and installed, ensuring the whole factory doesn’t fill with fumes, affecting welders, and other workers not directly associated with the welding operation.

Sometimes the extracting Fume Arms or small hoods can be vented to atmosphere through the wall or roof, but dust or grinding residue should be dealt with (filtered) so as not to pollute the atmosphere, and annoy or affect neighbours. 

There is a range of options available which will filter and collect the debris. From simple In Line Filters able to deal with a single dust/fume source to complete fume/dust solutions protecting multiple sources for a large operation.

Small in-line filters are available which can be installed anywhere that is convenient to your workplace. With easy access to check the filter, these are ideal for a single machine such as a fume arm used for welding, or in a laboratory. They are used in schools or where use is infrequent, and space is restricted  

AIR VOLUME 3,000-9,000m³/h (e.g. for large welding workshops)

For heavier duty 24/7 operations these robust, heavy construction Fume Filters are suitable in an outdoor location. Proven capability for use with larger laser/plasma emissions in multiple industries.

Our economic range of compact Fume filters with compressed air cleaning come with a variety of cartridges to suit several applications: welding, plasma and laser cutting. Popular as they require little space, the unit’s control panel is easy to use and operates on a timed cleaning sequence. Ideal for indoor use.

Our Fume Filtration solution for Autex Acoustics, Queensland

Autex Acoustics approached Ebcam for a fume and dust solution for a new fibre
laser they had purchased for their production facility in Yatala Queensland.

The laser would be used to etch various patterns in polyester acoustic panels. The
process generated fume and fine particulate along with a chemical odour that
needed to be removed from the process to ensure the health of the workers in this
area.

The solution we provided was our GEOVENT 12 Tower unit with an integrated top
mounted fan inside an acoustic box to help reduce the noise inside the work area.
Autex are very happy with the installation and performance of the unit and will be
looking at purchasing more fibre lasers in the future and will be using the same
solution provided by Ebcam.
